EP801 è più di un semplice motore, è un sistema completo di e-bike. Motore, batteria, controlli e software sono stati tutti progettati per lavorare insieme senza soluzione di continuità per offrire l'esperienza e-bike più naturale e raffinata possibile.
Motore:
Il motore DU-EP801, o unità motrice come lo chiama Shimano, pesa solo 2,6 kg ma può fornire fino a 85 Nm di coppia. La potenza è regolare, facilmente erogata in modo naturale e si aggiunge all'esperienza di guida senza travolgerla. Le dimensioni compatte del motore completano il design pulito del telaio della 4060 Z e forniscono un sacco di spazio da terra anche sui sentieri tecnici. I componenti interni sono stati progettati per ridurre al minimo l'attrito ed il rumore, dando una sensazione reattiva e naturale attraverso i pedali.
Permetteteci di darvi qualche dato scientifico. Nm sta per Newton metro. Lo usiamo per descrivere la quantità massima di coppia, la forza di rotazione, che il motore può produrre. Una coppia maggiore darà la sensazione che il motore stia fornendo più assistenza.
Batteria:
Usiamo una batteria Darfon da 720 Wh che è montata all'interno del tubo obliquo. Grande nella capacità ma sottile nelle dimensioni, significa che possiamo portare il look elegante del 4060 alla linea Z. La batteria è approvata da Shimano per funzionare con il sistema EP801 e può essere revisionata dai rivenditori autorizzati Shimano, mantenendo le cose semplici.
Nel caso te lo stessi chiedendo, Wh sta per Watt ora. Nel contesto di una batteria per e-bike ti dice quanta energia può potenzialmente immagazzinare. Maggiore è il numero di Wh, maggiore è la capacità di potenza che, a parità di altre condizioni, significa una maggiore durata della batteria e più tempo di guida.
Controlli:
Con una grande potenza arriva un grande controllo. Gli interruttori dal design ergonomico rendono semplici e veloci le regolazioni e un display compatto con un'interfaccia chiara offre tutte le informazioni di cui hai bisogno. Come si carica la batteria?
La batteria può essere caricata sia sulla bici attraverso una piccola porta appena sopra la staffa del motore o fuori dalla bici. La bici viene fornita con un caricabatterie veloce da 4A che può caricare completamente una batteria in circa cinque ore.
Come faccio a rimuovere la batteria?
Rimuovere la batteria dal tubo obliquo è semplice e richiede solo una chiave a brugola da 5 mm - non servono attrezzi o chiavi speciali. La batteria è tenuta saldamente in posizione quando è installata, quindi non ci sono fastidiosi rumori anche quando il gioco si fa duro.
